Tezeta was written by the Ethiopian jazz musician, Mulatu Astatke. The name Tezeta (or tizita/tazata) is a music style from Eritrea and Ethiopia. The term means 'nostalgia' or 'longing' and is also the name of a Pentatonic scale from the Amhara ethnic group.
