Dust
Bathed in gold
Bathed to the reach of hands
Dust, bathed in gold to the reach of hands
Gold!
Looted gold
Looted to the reach of hands
Gold, looted and cursed to the reach of hands
Dust to gold to dust to gold to dust to gold to dust to gold to dust....

Amazon and Nile

The Nile flows north
Amazon from west
Neither toil nor spin
Through mists of steam and haze
Storms of sand and rain
All as one
Condor over canopy
Eagle on desert wind
They take only what they need
The Amazon and Nile
Caiman and crocodile

The Kotharat

For the ones that are offering to you
Prepare two offering loaves in their bowls
while I am making the sacrifice in front of it
They too have carried sacrifice toward heaven
for welfare and fortune
At the silver sword symbol to the right side of your throne
I have offered them
I will nullify the sins
without covering or denying them
I will bring them to you
in order for agreeance
The swallow-like daughters of the crescent moon
Artful to the beds of conception
You love those who come to be reconciled
I have placed them in front of you
and you take them away through this ritual
I will honour you at your footstool,
but it is Nikkal who will strengthen them
She let the married couples have children
she let them be born to their mothers
But the begetter will cry out
“She has not born any child!
Why have not I as a true wife born children for you?”

Thirty spokes meet in the hub
But the space between them is the essence of the wheel
Pots are formed from clay
But the space inside them is the essence of the pot
Walls with windows and doors form the house
But the space within them is the essence of the house
Ji - Kan - Ma!

Inscribed on the stones:
Εἰκὼν ἤ λίθος εἰμί. τίθησί με Σεικίλος ἔνθα μνήμης ἀθανάτου σῆμα πολυχρόνιον
I am a tombstone, an image. Seikilos placed me here as a long-lasting sign of deathless remembrance.
Seikilos Epitaph:
Ὅσον ζῇς φαίνου
μηδὲν ὅλως σὺ λυποῦ
πρὸς ὀλίγον ἔστι τὸ ζῆν
τὸ τέλος ὁ χρόνος ἀπαιτεῖ
While you live, shine!
Carry no sorrow at all
Life is a gift for not long
'Til Time, he demands his fair due
*The tombstone inscription above includes a direct translation to English, though the Seikilos Epitaph lyrics have undergone some literary adjustments to accommodate language and meter.
